We all know that instructional practice must be our focus as we explore digital tool use, during this panel session you will participate in a discussion about planning and supporting teachers with effective digital tool use. Our panel consists of several district Tech Leaders that are eager to share lessons learned and successes worth sharing.

I currently serve as the Coordinator of Technology for my District. In this role I provide professional learning for our staff and run our Technology Department. Our instructional emphasis has been UDL for a few years. I was a teacher for primary for 9 years and I have been current position for 20 years. I also started as a professor for WWU. Certifications: K-8 general education, K-12 special education, 4-12 child development, and K-12 Administration. Presenter at various conferences: NCCE, MicroK12, ASCD, and WASWUG. Katie currently serves as the Technology Integration Specialist for the Mount Vernon School District. Katie is the Professional Development Provider for the District through the WASA IPP grant and loves to work with teachers on how to intentionally plan and integrate UDL into the classroom to provide content that is available for all students. UDL and technology play a powerful role in student learning experiences and provide access/opportunities for all students. Katie was previously a middle school teacher for 12 years, provided professional development on technology through the district, NCCE and a Library of Congress grant for 4 years.

Arie Werder is a District EdTech Integration Specialist, T&L Team member, and Assistive Technology Lead for the Burlington-Edison School District. Arie spent 15 years as a classroom teacher. Her belief in learning and collaborating grounds her in her work. Arie found that when EdTech was intertwined with research-based instructional practices, learning environments support all learners. Every learner knowing they belong, and believe they can achieve in school is what drives her to serve educators. Arie is Google certified, GLAD Tier 2, Seesaw Certified Educator, and has expertise with AVID and UDL.
