Esports for Any Grade Level and Any Class!

Do you want to start an elementary esports program in your school? Do you want to start a high school esports program in your school? Do you want ideas for using games cooperatively or competitively in your class no matter what grade level or what subject you teach? Then stop by this session to get some great ideas for using games for esports and for learning any subject! You will get ideas for using Minecraft Education, Minecraft Java, as well as some other popular esports games such as Rocket League, Mario Kart, Smash Bros Ultimate, and more!

Alfonso (Al) Gonzalez is a 5th and 6th grade STEM teacher from Chimacum Elementary School. Al has been teaching for 32 years! Al was the 2021 NCCE Outstanding Educator of the Year and a 2022 EPA Presidential Innovation Award for Environmental Educators recipient. Al teaches in a 1:1 classroom and he has enhanced his curricula by getting grants for 26 of the 32 years he's been teaching and 24 of those were consecutive! Tammie Schrader is a science/computer science coordinator at Northeast Washington ESD 10. She serves 59 public schools in their science and computer science implementation. Tammie was a science teacher at Cheney Middle School, for 15 years. She taught Life Science as well as Computer Programming, Gaming Programming, Robotics as well as coaching the Science Olympiad Team, Robotics Club, SeaPerch Team as well as Future Business Leaders of America at her middle school. Tammie has her B.A. in Education and B.S. in Biology. She earned M.A. in Education and Teaching At Risk Students.
