Esports & Media: Engaging students through livestreams

The Esports industry is built on Media. As the industry grows, there is a growing need for talented individuals for a variety of positions in media creation. An esports livestream needs stream producers, shoutcasting talent, video editors, graphic designers, social media managers...and more! Your school esports program allows all interested students to engage in these roles in authentic and engage ways. In this presentation, you'll learn about the necessary roles, programs needed, and how to organize this side of your esports program.

Jason Dilley is a 15 year, National Board Certified CTE educator in the Sedro-Woolley School District. Seven years ago, he developed one of the first esports programs in Washington State and has spent considerable time helping other teachers and schools setup their programs as well. In 2020, Jason along with other educators around the state, formed the Washington State Scholastic Esports Association, a 501(c)3 non-profit designed to facilitate Esports competitions in WA state and support coaches with the formation and continuation of their clubs.
