Enhancing Open Educational Resources to Engage All Learners

Educators and students benefit from the growing availability of high quality OER resources published in a variety of formats. This session will explore how enhancing the delivery of OER materials through Microsoft OneNote Class Notebook supports and engages all learners. Identify key strategies for developing learning resources in OneNote and apply suggestions from this session to 1) Provide all students equitable access to content and learning tools, 2) Allow greater means of representation and expression, 3) Reduce extraneous cognitive load (for teachers and students), and 4) Support district, consultant, or teacher-led materials creation and implementation process

Her passion for this work is grounded in a belief that intentional use of educational technologies can support more equitable human-centered teaching and learning experiences. While many tools provide similar features, Microsoft OneNote is a powerhouse digital tool that transformed how students engaged with and accessed curriculum in MaryEllen's previous middle school math, science, and career and technical education classroom.
