AI Learning Lab: Is ChatGPT the Shortcut Students Think It Is?

Do AI writing tools help or hinder students? In this BYOD session, participants will complete a two-part writing assignment, with or without AI assistance. We'll then do a blind comparison of the results to discuss how and when AI can be used most effectively in the writing process. This engaging activity is designed for educators who want to help their students understand and use AI tools effectively and not just as a shortcut to a finished essay.

BYOD Needs:
Laptop, tablet, or mobile device with a web browser. Participants should have access to ChatGPT, Google Bard, or another chat-based AI tool.
Note: Be sure your electronic device has a fully charged battery as only limited power sources will be available.
