'Coding in Minecraft' Certified Educator Course for WA and AK Teachers

‘Coding in Minecraft’ is an immersive, easy-to-teach and standards-aligned CS curriculum that is FREE for all public schools in Alaska. In this workshop, come learn how to leverage ‘Coding in Minecraft’s’ Computer Science aligned curriculum and the familiar world of Minecraft Education to help your students’ progress from the basics of using MakeCode to advanced coding with JavaScript or Python. You will get hands-on with our curriculum and leave ready to bring ‘Coding in Minecraft’ to your students – all at no cost for Washington and Alaska teachers! For this workshop you will need to bring a device with Minecraft Education installed. This workshop is for WA and AK teachers only.

Jennifer Brown is the Product Specialist for Coding in Minecraft and has 18 years’ experience as both an educator and a trainer. She is a Global Minecraft Mentor, Microsoft Master Trainer, and Minecraft Certified trainer and has trained hundreds of teachers on game-based learning through Minecraft: Education Edition. As a former teacher, Jennifer is dedicated to the ideal that all students should have access to computer science. As the Product Specialist for Coding in Minecraft, Jennifer continues this dedication by training teachers how they can bring computer science to their students through the engaging curriculum of Coding in Minecraft.
