Current Cyber Threats and How to Stay Safe Online

Friday, February 28, 2:00 pm–2:50 pm
Seattle Convention Center - 606

In our world today there are many forces that attempt to distract and manipulate you to separate you from your money and your data. The affect online is even worse because communication is faceless, we can’t read emotions or body language, and we are forced to make trust decisions based on the information we have about the ‘person’, in order to move forward. Most humans want to trust others, but that is our biggest weakness. Ian Moore, Supervisory Cybersecurity Advisor for Washington State for CISA, will dig into the various current cybersecurity threats, from CISA’s perspective, and how you can protect your organization. He will also discuss other effective techniques and actions for you to take in order to protect yourself, your family and your students online.
