October’s Filipino-American History Month is a perfect opportunity to incorporate Ethnic Studies into your K-12 classroom. This presentation will explore a variety of free resources for educators, including tips on how I adapted some secondary resources for my 4th grade classroom.

Nicolette has taught both here and abroad for almost 20 years, including elementary, middle, and high school experience. She has also served as a K-8 Principal, Technology Integration Specialist, MLL Teacher, Academic Interventionist, and district-level Positive Behavior Support Specialist. She is a member of the Filipino American Educators of Washington and recently taught Filipino American History classes at the Filipino Community of Seattle. She is an alum of the NEA Minority Leadership Training program, WEA SPARKS, and is a current member of the NAKIA Academy.
