OSPI Media Literacy and Digital Citizenship Jam Session WAJS

Wednesday, March 22, 8:00 am–11:50 am
TCC - TCC - Room 316

Pre-Registration Required

You know your students need to build their capacity for navigating our ever-changing information ecosystems and making intentional choices in online environments. But your school or district curriculum is already jam-packed and many teachers are overwhelmed, reluctant, or unsure where to start. Join us to learn how to deal with these challenges from experts, including eight Washington State school district teams who have been working on solving the Media Literacy & Digital Citizenship integration dilemma. Jennifer LaGarde will kick things off, Jamie Nunez from Common Sense Education will stop by, and Mark Ray will lead a roundtable discussion of specific challenges like handling politically-sensitive topics. Engage with the district teams in an interactive open-house style, share your own ups and downs with other participants via an IRL chat graffiti wall, and win some awesome books.
