Bringing Robotics to All Scholars: Explore Sphero Integration K-12 (WA12)

In this Sphero robotics workshop, participants will learn how to start, expand, and refine an integrated Sphero robotics program across a district or school in after school programs and/or classroom lessons. In addition, participants will learn how to connect to Sphero robots and the three basic ways to code the Sphero robots, with a main focus on block coding. Exploring Federal Way Public Schools and Sphero Edu created resources, participants will also see first-hand how a district can lead the way to growing community excitement and partnership.

Shea Eakes, Federal Way Public Schools
Shea Eakes is an Instructional Technology Facilitator within the Instructional Technology department in Federal Way Public Schools. Shea is passionate about project-based learning and technology integration. He has also facilitated the development of educational technology through his former company E-Squared Learning LLC and has worked with Educurious on curriculum development and co-facilitation of project-based learning education conferences.
Jane Miller, Federal Way Public Schools
Jane Miller, the current Director of Instructional Technology for Federal Way Public Schools and NCCE Professional Learning Specialist, is characterized by her colleagues as having a depth of knowledge and versatility that provides learning to occur and offers a variety of laughs! She has over 25 years in K-20 public education in various roles from teacher, director, to adjunct faculty for WSU. Currently, under her purview is Technology Integration, STEAM, PBL, Blended Learning, and Credit Recovery.
